Doug joined the family in September of 2016! I was told he was 1-2 years old, which is by far the youngest dog I have ever rescued, then I found out he wasn’t even one at that point!

During Spring of 2017 Doug had surgery for a grade 4 luxated patella and TPLO surgery.  Not to be outdone, the other leg had surgery in August of 2017 (TPLO and shin stabilizing).  So now, Doug is bionic.

Doug was also diagnosed with a neurodegenerative disease called Neuronal Ceroid Lupaficinosis. There is no treatment and no cure. The goal is as much joy and love as possible in whatever time we are given.
